  • Formal Coaching for Competitive/ Civil Service Examinations was started at the Campus for students.
  • To promote Extracurricular Activities, Certificate Courses in : Yoga, Dramatics, Self Defense, Aerobics, Tourism, Human Rights, Family Life Education, Personality Development, Bonsai, Vermiculture were introduced.

  • The College inaugurated an ISRO sponsored Outreach Centre setup for conducting Government sponsored geospatial programs on campus.

  • Research being an essential component in the curriculum, several National and International Workshops, International Students and Staff Exchange programs with numerous projects, internships, hands-on training sessions and educational trips were organized this year to enhance investigative culture amongst students.
  • ‘A National Workshop on Quantitative Techniques and Data Analysis using Data Mining Tools’ was organized this session to impart hands on training, build scientific temperament and expose the students to the latest research avenues.

  • The Mentor Mentee Program is again a very popular practice of the Institution which involves personal care and development of every student,

    by imparting personal care and imbibing moral values in them.
  • This session a Master’s Program in Chemistry, Diploma Programs in French, Journalism, Yoga and GIS were initiated on students’ demand.
  • To expedite the process of learning and exploration the Department of Computer Science, Commerce, Economics, Chemistry and Geography organized National as well as International Seminars and Conferences this session.
  • The Placement Cell of the Institution regular organizes ‘Placement camps’ on campus inviting companies and conducting interviews for students. In association with the IIC it also promotes business venture for them providing basic infrastructural and marketing facilities.
  • The ‘Institutional Innovation Cell’ of the Institution (recognized by MHRD) dedicatedly works towards acknowledging student’s innovative ideas and unique talents and facilitate START-UP events on campus for industrial exposure. They also provide a launching pad to the budding entrepreneurs of Sophia by exposing them to skills like manufacturing, designing, sales and also online marketing.
  • Numerous Curricular and Co-Curricular activities were planned and conducted for showcasing the innate talents of the students wherein they actively participated and earned laurels.

  • The Institution took a pioneering step this year in developing its E Learning Mechanism. Regular Online Classes were taken for all students for a period on nearly one month (during CORONA Lockdown in India) using ZOOM, Google classroom, Hangout MEET, WEBX and ISPRING Desktop software teaching, mentoring and facilitating the ongoing learning process.
  • Several National and International Workshops, International Students and Staff Exchange programs with numerous projects, internships, hands-on training sessions and educational trips were organized to provide academic discourses and enhance investigative culture amongst students. The students actively participated and exhibited their talents during the International Staff and Student Exchange program in January,2020.

  • The Advanced learners are provided with additional support and counselling for their career building. Departments perform many activities like: Solving last five year papers, organizing special lectures and imparting tips and tricks for cracking competitive examinations for them.
  • Remedial Classes are organized as a regular feature by many departments for slow learners, absentee cases on medical as well as sports ground, and there progression is constantly monitored and evaluated.
  • The Mentor Mentee Program is a very popular practice of the Institution which involves personal care and development of every student,
