The College’s Admission Committee is responsible for the selection of deserving students having the qualities and ability to go hand in hand with the quality of education provided by the College. The Committee ensures that all candidates are given an equal opportunity to prove their capabilities. Anti Ragging And Vigilance Committee
ANTI-RAGGING POLICY
Ragging is a criminal offence as per the Supreme Court verdict.Sophia College (Autonomous), Ajmer is known for its discipline and moral values. The Institution has zero tolerance towards anything that goes against and degrades these values. Ragging is against the human and ethical values which our institution upholds.
Ragging consists of one or more of the following acts:
- Any conduct by any student whether by words spoken, written or by an act which has the effect of teasing, treating, and handling with offensiveness a fresher or any other student
- Engaging in improper activities by any student or students which causes annoyance, hardship, physical/psychological harm, or to raise fear, or apprehension thereof in any fresher or any other student.
- Any action by a senior student that prevents, disrupts or disturbs the regular academic activity of any other student or a fresher.
- Any act or abuse by spoken words, emails, posts, or public insults which would also include deriving wrong pleasure, distorted or a callous thrill from actively or passively participating in the discomfiture to a fresher or any other student
- Any act that affects the mental health and self-confidence of a fresher or any other student with or without an intent to derive a sadistic pleasure or impose superiority by a student over any fresher or any other student.
- Asking any student to do any act which the student will not in the ordinary course do and which has the effect of causing or producing a sense of humiliation, distress or agony so as to adversely affect the physique or psyche of such fresher or any other student
- Exploiting the services of a fresher or any other student for completing the academic tasks allotted to an individual or a group of students.
- Any act of financial blackmail or forceful expenditure put on a fresher or any other student by the students.
Ragging in any form is totally banned in the entire Institution and strict action is taken against those found guilty of ragging. All complaints pertaining to any kind of ragging by any student/group of students of the College inside or outside the College campus may be reported to the Anti-Ragging and Vigilance Committee by sending a mail to antiraggingcell@sophia.college or putting a slip in the Grievance Box. The students may also fill out the online Grievance Form when in need. They may also approach the members of the Committee or their mentors as per their comfort level. Anti Sexual Harassment Cell/ ICC
To provide for the effective enforcement of the basic human right of gender equality and guarantee against sexual harassment and abuse, Sophia College (Autonomous), Ajmer has constituted a Committee against Sexual Harassment as per the Guidelines issued by the University Grants Commission.
The Cell promotes measures for achieving removal of sexual harassment, gender bias and other acts of gender based violence by organizing various awareness programmes and campaigns for the benefit of all. The Cell assures that the complaints of the students and teaching and non-teaching staff are kept confidential and treated with dignity and respect.
False Reporting: Intentionally making a false report or providing false information is considered an act of indiscipline, invoking strict action by the Committee. All Grievances should be mailed to antisexualharassementcell@sophia.college

Guidance And Counselling Cell
Counselling is the psychotherapeutic relationship in which an individual receives direct help from an adviser along with an opportunity to release negative feelings and thus clear the way for positive growth in the personality.
Aiming at the well being of students, the institution has initiated the Guidance and Counselling Cell with an RCI Certified Clinical Psychologist as the official College Counselor. The Cell encourages the students to seek help for their personal, emotional, social, family and peer issues while ensuring complete confidentiality to them. The Cell also organizes regular mental health awareness sessions for all the students.

Cultural Committee
The institution believes in the holistic development of each and every student. The Cultural Committee looks after the manifestation of this motto. They work round the year for various inter and intra collegiate cultural events. The Committee seeks to build a democratic platform where each child gets to showcase and hone her talents. Discipline plays a vital role in the holistic development of a student’s personality. Examination Committee
The Examination Committee consists of members from the staff. It is headed by the Controller of Examinations. The Committee is mainly responsible for all exams related chores. Its major work includes making and uploading the Exam Time Table, uploading examination forms and admit cards, setting of question papers, conduct of exams, declaration of results, revaluation, printing of marksheets etc. The Examination Committee is active throughout the year conducting various exams like CIA, End Semester Examinations, Due Examinations, Special Examinations etc

Institution Innovation Cell
The Institution Innovation Cell (IIC) recognized by the MHRD is supportive of its students who are young budding entrepreneurs aspiring to establish themselves in the global market. To create an ecosystem for innovations, creation and transfer of knowledge, the College provides systematic entrepreneurship training comprising both active and passive learning activities on entrepreneurial alertness and efficacy among adolescent youth. These young talented students are allowed to market and sell their products during different departmental fests and also the college fest. The Institution provides financial support as seed money to the young entrepreneurs and also encourages them to take up internships related to their area of interest that instill a sense of confidence in them. These fledgling talents are recognized and certified with due appreciation. Many students have created a niche for themselves and are earning while learning on the campus.
The Cell strives hard to keep pace with the changing time and help the students of Sophia College become job givers instead of job seekers in the future. It aids students from all socio-economic backgrounds to think out of the box and nurture innate talents and hone their entrepreneurial skills by promoting entrepreneurship training among adolescents, specifically passive learning (e.g., classroom lessons, assembly talks, visits to firms) and more active, experiential learning (e.g., attachments and internships, product/prototype creation, learning from a mentor, etc.)
