I. Seminars, Workshops and Panel Discussions were conducted.
II. Technological Innovations were adopted in the college.

3. To help students to evaluate and analyse given situation or data.
4. To sensitize them towards the need of upholding values.
5. To enlighten them of the need of women empowerment in the present scenario.
6. To open up various options of career.
7. To keep the faculty updated with changing times.
8. To help the faculty of the college to explore avenues of research in their subjects.
9. To stimulate the students to think innovatively and creatively.
10. To help parents understand the need for Autonomy.
11. To help the college, discuss the pros and cons of Autonomy with the parents.
12. To keep the college abreast with latest technological innovations.
13. To encourage the faculty to adapt to these technological changes.
IV. The Practice
I. In pursuit of excellence Seminars, Workshops, Panel Discussions were conducted throughout the year at 3 different levels to cater to the parents, students and faculty.
a. A seminar on Autonomy, followed by a panel discussion on the same topic “Is Autonomy good or bad” was organized by IQAC to help parents understand the pros and cons of Autonomy.
b. A UGC sponsored National Seminar on “Sensitization towards Values through Literature” was organized by the Department of English to reinforce the importance of Values in our Society and to discuss how to transmit these Values through Literature.
c. A UGC sponsored National Workshop on “Empowerment of Women in the Present Scenario” was organized by the Department of Home Science to help the students feel empowered and also inspire them for future possibilities of empowerment through real life stories of the alumni of the college.
d. A Seminar was conducted by experts on how to safely use LPG in our kitchens.
e. Mr. Anshuman Kelsy from the Taj Group of Hotels conducted a seminar for the students regarding career opportunities in the hospitality industry.
f. The Collector of Ajmer conducted a Seminar to spread awareness for General Elections and to emphasize the importance and power of the vote under the campaign SWEEP.
g. The faculty was apprised on the opportunities of Research and Post Doctoral Research that are offered by Full Bright Scholarships.
h. Mrs. Anahita Lee conducted a workshop on ‘Group Discussion and Mind Tools’ to open up our eyes to the various dynamics of group behaviour and how to use different mind tools like the Thinking Caps and Pop Beans.
i. Dr. Sr. Melba, a well know gynaecologist of the city, conducted a Seminar on ‘Family Life Education’ for faculty, as well as students.
j. Mr. Anil Kumar conducted a Seminar on ‘Financial Literacy’ sponsored by SEBI.
k. Peer Training by senior students to train junior students to continue the legacy of the college continues all through the year.
II. The college tried to keep up with the technological innovations by introducing the following:
a. Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) a centralized database system of the college was developed.
b. Under the ERP, messages on the parents’ mobiles were sent regarding the attendance of their ward, parent teacher meetings and reminders for the last date of submitting college fees.
c. Admissions were conducted online through online forms.
d. Bio-Metric system of attendance for staff and students was started.
e. Bar coding of library books was completed.
V. Major Obstacles
* The major obstacle is the Cantonment Board as the College is situated on the cantonment land and the infrastructure cannot be expanded as the permission is usually denied.
* Anything new that is endeavoured to be done does face numerous challenges and we learn and grow through experience. The college added many feathers to its cap by organising a UGC sponsored National Seminar and Workshop.
* The last minute refusals of the Resource Persons and Paper Presenters created a lot of last minute hassles.
* It becomes difficult to keep the students interested for a long duration of time.
* Due to financial constraints it becomes difficult to get good Resource Persons from outside the state.
* It is sometimes difficult to arouse the interest of the faculty in the various Faculty Development Programmes conducted by the college.
* Due to technical glitches, the bio metric machines did not accept the finger prints of a large number of students.
* Swapping of classes specially when one teacher has completed the syllabi or is on leave and the other needs to take the class becomes difficult due to the pre feeding of the class time tables in the bio metric system.
* Under the ERP, sometimes the messages failed to reach the right destination due to change of mobile number.
* Since, admission forms were made online for the first time, parents and students who were not so technologically updated found it difficult to adapt to this change.
The response of the parents in the Panel Discussion on Autonomy was overwhelming and many of them spoke openly in favour of Autonomy and even wished that the college would be a Deemed University one day. The students were apprehensive about the UGC sponsored National Seminar initially maybe due to financial constraints, but when exposed to the Seminar, they responded favourably which was reflected in their enthusiastic participation in the next UGC sponsored National Workshop. At the end of the session, the feedback that the students’ gave was encouraging for the Organising Committees of the Seminar and Workshop. The students felt that such efforts should be made more often by the college. The students were exposed to a Research oriented method of study and they too tried to present papers during the seminar and the workshop.
The ERP connected the parents directly to the college on a daily basis, where they would receive an instant message if their ward had missed a class. That made the parents as well as the students more alert about regularity in class. Resultantly, the number of defaulters went down considerably.
GOOD NEWS GROUP
The Christian students have carved a separate niche for themselves as they meet regularly to enrich themselves spiritually. As they are the gospel bearers they have christened themselves the Good News Group. They meet for regular sessions of praise and worship, have Bible Quiz Competitions, Poster Making Competitions on Biblical themes and engage themselves in numerous interesting activities.
As the name suggests it is a club where compelling movies are screened, debated, analyzed and reviewed by the students. The club exposes the students to the world of cinema as a serious art form and also opens up to them the possibilities of careers as film critics, art directors, directors, cinematographers etc.
The club brings together students who are gifted in vocal and instrumental art. It hones their respective skill and provides them a platform to display their talent. The club is responsible for organizing solo song competitions, antakshari, group song competitions, instrumental musical nights etc.
The Club was formed in the year 2002 to make the students aware of their environment and the problems that the environment is facing in the present times. It brings together the students of all Faculties and tries to equip them with means for protecting and saving environment against many hazards. The activities of the club include Paper presentations, Quiz Competitions, Trekking, and celebrating the Eco-week.
N.C.C. develops qualities of courage, comradeship, discipline, leadership, secular outlook, a spirit of adventure, sportsmanship and selfess service among youth. Training through camps held in different parts of the country is compulsory.
The National Service Scheme aims at creating awareness among the students about society and also to inculcate in them a humanitarian attitude towards their less fortunate brethren. NSS volunteers are expected to devote 120 hours towards social service in an academic year. The highlight of the scheme is a 10 days special camp. There are also single day camps, visits to adopted areas, group discussions, debates, tree-plantations, free educational guidance to poor students and various competitions for the volunteers. The NSS has 2 units of 200 students. Students who remain volunteers for 2 years are awarded certificates. In the year 2013-14 NSS continued its relentless mission of generating social awareness by organizing regular Camps for Blood Donation, Tree Plantation, celebrating special days assigned for the Girl Child, Human Rights, AIDS and a seven day NSS Camp. Besides the afore mentioned activities NSS coordinated highly informative ‘Talks’ by experienced resource persons on contemporary issues like ‘Right to Information’ and ‘Conservation of Energy.’
The Dramatic Club of the College registers interested students as members. It is involved in conducting activities and workshops on acting, directing, script writing, and stage setting of plays, areas where the students find ample opportunities to prove themselves and excel.
WOMEN DEVELOPMENT CELL
In keeping the changing trends of the society women now need to be more independent and confident. They need to know about their rights along with duties. They also need a platform for discussing women oriented issues and issues that are relevant to the current social scenario. Thus, the Forum aims at sensitizing young girls on issues related to women.
The Forum for the students of Political Science, History and Sociology was inaugurated in August 2005. Named after an academy founded by Aristotle, it was started in the college to provide a platform to the students to air their views, discuss issues, and showcase their oratory, communication and acting skills on issues related to their subjects. It has successfully organized extension lectures by eminent professors and personalities like Prof Nathan Katz from the University of Florida. The Forum in collaboration with the PUCL organized a seminar on ‘Accountability and Transparency in Governance’ by Shree Wajahat Habibullah (Former Chairperson, National Minority Commission) and Shrimati Aruna Roy the famous social activist.
